The NC School Board Association recently reported that millions of dollars in uncollected property bonds are adding up. A bond that is not backed by a bail agent often means that the Sheriff will not have extra assistance should the defendant skip out on a court date. Subsequently, if the defendant is not found and surrendered, the school kids are denied the money that a bail agent would have otherwise paid.
